The concept of 808 Live began when I was planning my own retirement after being in law enforcement for 26 years. Having family from Hawai’i, I remember spending many summers there and enjoying quality time with plenty of aunties, uncles and cousins. I enjoy organizing and bringing people together through fundraising events for both non-profit groups such as the 670 Club, 11-99 Foundation, Alama Heritage Foundation and companies such as KoAloha Ukulele and Hawaiian Music Live.
Thinking that this past time of organizing events could be my post-retirement hobby, I decided to start 808 Live, a music promoting company that organizes concerts and special events.
Music can be a bridge between cultures with the power to connect our past and present through mele. I aim to be a music connection to the islands and spread the spirit of aloha through music.
